How to uninstall PUP.Optional.Tarma.A, removal instructions

Posted on 08:58 by Unknown
Most of us have fallen prey to malicious software or a computer virus at some point and it’s probably fair to say that none of us have enjoyed the experience. It seems there is a never ending stream of nasty bugs and infections just waiting to attack us when we’re online which can leave us feeling both annoyed and vulnerable. Cyber crooks create viruses for a number of different reasons; some just get a kick out of knowing that they can whilst others are designed to corrupt your documents and maybe even steal your data or financial details.

No matter the reason for the virus, protecting yourself by installing a reputable anti-virus software program is of paramount importance in the war against online threats and unwanted software. Therefore using a program such as Malwarebytes Anti-Malware which will scan your PC to search for a destroy viruses and malware should be top of everyone’s list.

Your anti-virus software will also protect you against Potentially Unwanted Programs – otherwise known as PUP’s. As the name suggests, this is software which has been installed on your machine without you having been involved in that process. Whilst not actually a virus, a PUP like PUP.Optional.Tarma.A can still cause you considerable headaches and should be got rid of the minute you find it on your PC.

A PUP may install itself on your laptop or PC in a variety of ways although most commonly it will come bundled with an installation or download that you do actually want. A lot of Potentially Unwanted Programs like PUP.Optional.Tarma.A are responsible for loading adware onto your computer’s operating system or downloading and installing an unwanted toolbar. Adware and its stream of associated pop up windows is annoying and unwanted toolbars can hijack your browser, redirect you to websites that you would normally have no interest in visiting and even install further unwanted software on your machine.

So what steps can you take to ensure that PUP.Optional.Tarma.A doesn’t end up being installed on your computer? This is where you need to exercise a little caution and pay more attention to what you’re downloading or installing on your machine. The makers of Potentially Unwanted Programs are very clever at sneaking these onto to your computer which is why they are often packaged with genuine software or with downloads.

The next time you download something make sure that you trust the website it is coming from and also ensure that you read the EULA – the end user license agreement. It might seem like a waste of time but check the wording and un-tick any boxes that have been pre-selected to install additional software because chances are it will be malware or a PUP like PUP.Optional.Tarma.A.

As mentioned, having a well-known brand of anti-virus software installed on your computer is also crucial and you should run regular scans to ensure that there is nothing that is dangerous or unwanted hiding on your operating system. To remove PUP.Optional.Tarma.A and make sure that your machine is perfectly clean, please follow the removal instructions below.
